How do you approach conversations with people who have drastically different viewpoints to avoid conflict?

I like to be agreeable, but if their stance goes against my morals, I will listen but probably not change my viewpoint. When they don't have logos in their point, I will listen, but I don't respond well with pathos.

To not say anything but understand that everyone has opinions and not everyone will agree on everything.
